Greetings,

My name is Christopher Gwaltney, I am a Civil Engineer in the area and I have just started my own practice.  This is the beginning of an endeavor for me which I have waited ten years to begin, after I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1998.  I have been previously employed by several of the major civil engineering firms in the area. Beginning in the Williamsburg area, I cut my teeth on high end residential subdivisions and then moved to Virginia Beach where I continued to work on complex residential and commercial developments in Portsmouth, Suffolk and the surrounding area. I also have experience with developers and contractors in the area.

 I was born and raised in Smithfield and am excited to bring my experience home to serve this community. I hope to utilize my planning and engineering talents to assist those who wish to improve their property and surroundings, as my company’s name implies. 

Recently, I have had the occasion to study and design several residential on-site sewer systems and grinder pump connections to municipal systems, which has been very interesting. While I am not a Land Surveyor, my line of work and expertise has given me the opportunity to work with Surveyors as I apply my trade in planning and designing subdivisions, both small and large.

 As I develop my practice, I believe it may be necessary to enlist the services of other professionals.  I feel it is important that we utilize and refer clients and prospective clients to qualified local talent, when available.  Thank you for your time and I look forward to your email or call.
